PUSSY HAT memorializes the pink pussy hat worn during the historic 2017 Women's March. It is comprised of 320 different protest signs, as well as chants and songs from the march.

PUSSY HAT highlights the true meaning of democracy - the right to free speech and peaceful assembly and the duty to be an active participant in our government, by speaking up, voting, or even holding office. I marched with my daughter and friends. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

CRUDE-FEATHERED FRIENDS OF THE DEEPWATER HORIZON is a reminder of the largest off-shore oil spill in US History in the Gulf of Mexico. The cormorant is composed of the 78 different species of birds found oiled, with over 1 million birds estimated to have been killed by this disaster. The oil spill highlights other species affected by the spill.

BROKEN PEACE PIPELINE was inspired by the Water Protectors at Standing Rock.  The peacepipe text highlights the importance of Mother Earth and the water/property rights of the Sioux and Lakota nations. The oil snake mimics the Missouri River path in this region and contains species affected by a Dakota pipeline break. The background is original text from the Laramie Treaties.
